ABOUT MRS. V.
My name is Emily Van Egmond. I am originally from Geneseo, IL- right across the Mississippi, but currently live in Ogden, Iowa with my husband and 3 cats. We have also recently unofficially adopted 2 kids into our family, 7 and 9 years old. Adam is a tree worker seeking arborist certification and does landscaping as well as various other side jobs.

This is my third year teaching. I have learned so much in two years and relish the opportunity to grow and improve my practice!
​
I received a BA in Biochemistry from Monmouth College, and Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) from Iowa State University. I am endorsed in Chemistry, Biology, General Science, and Physics and have background in molecular biology research and genetics.

Hobbies include:
-Photography (I took pictures below)

-Hiking/being in nature

-Making cards/scrapbooking

-Coffee shops, watching Anne of Green Gables, and all things Christmas with my two sisters (Nicole and Jen)

-Learning new things in order to grow in my faith (reading new books, new bible study skills, talking with others, attending seminars, etc)
